What a Weekend!

We had quite a weekend!

Saturday night was the GS Holiday party followed by a concert at the Riverside by one of our favorite bands, The Decemberists. We had some friends in town staying with us so Hayden had her first sleepover at Auntie Erin and Uncle Bryant's house. I was a little worried - not for Hayden's sake but for Erin and Bryant. Babies can be so much work! Luckily, it sounds like Hayden was on her best behavior and Erin and Bryant are still talking to us so that's a good sign.

The GS holiday party was really fun this year. It was held at a restaurant down in the 5th Ward called Ginger. It's a tapas place so there was no sit down dinner, just a steady stream of tapas put out around the venue. The food was great, the drinks were delicious, and Steve and I had a great time chatting with all of my great coworkers and their significant others.

We only stayed at the party for a couple of hours and then it was off to the concert where we met up with our friends who were saving us seats. The show was so much fun and the band sounded great. After a beer and some appetizers at a bar near the concert venue, we were back home in our pajamas just winding down with our company. Two a.m. looks very different when you're out having fun than it does when you're up with a crying baby! It was such a great night. I can't thank Erin and Bryant enough for babysitting. It was great to feel like our old selves again, enjoying a night out together and then sleeping in the next morning. What a gift!

Here's a pic of me and Steve at our holiday party. We were literally the first two people in the door!

Last night we watched the Superbowl at Jen and Ryan Hoffe's house with a bunch of friends both new and old. It was so much fun! Our crew sure is multiplying - there were kids everywhere. Hayden has so many friends!

Hayden was scared every time the Packers scored and the room exploded in applause and cheers. What a great win by the Pack. I almost couldn't even celebrate the win because I had such a heart attack during the Steelers' last play.

It was fun to see Steve and Jason with their little girlies watching the game - so cute!

Steve and Jason went down to Water Street after the game to check out the crazy scene and to meet up with Erin and Bryant and some of their friends for a celebratory beer. I went home with the baby (and again, how things have changed!).

Erin sent me this pic from Water Street. Looks like fun!

I swear my family has the ability to predict Packer Superbowl wins by procreation. My niece was born in 1996 when the Packers won the Superbowl in New Orleans. And now that Hayden's here, we won again. Fourteen years between babies in the family and fourteen years between Superbowl wins. The Packers might want to consider putting me on their payroll or at the very least featuring me in their parade on Tuesday. I'm waiting for the call.

We can't wait for Feb 17- Uncle Ross and Uncle Jassen will be in town to meet Hayden for the first time. She's very excited!!
