The school year is drawing to an end, which is something I'm still trying to wrap my head around. There have been so many activities at school celebrating the year and all the kids have accomplished. I cannot believe how much Hayden has learned this year - and that's just being in school half a day. It's amazing to me how incredibly smart kids are and just how much capacity they have for learning.
A couple of weeks ago we went to Cumberland for Family Fun Night and ran into a bunch of her friends. Here she's with her friend Claire after completing a bouncy obstacle course.
We've also had our fair share of birthday parties this year. A couple of weekends ago Hayden was invited to her friend Evie's party which was held at a gymnastics studio. Hayden loved it and I hear she's not too bad on a balance beam!
One morning I snapped this pic of Steve and Hayden at the bottom of the stairs putting on shoes and assembling the plethora of bags we haul in and out of the house every day. These little moments (turning the corner on the stairs and encountering this adorable scene) make me such a happy mommy.
Hayden's school put on an end of year concert (she's in the top row, 6th from left) with an outer space theme. Hayden sang two songs and danced to one. It was adorable and there were definitely waterworks on the Mommy front. How do parents sit and watch this stuff with dry eyes???
Last weekend we were lucky enough to have Auntie Peggy, Cousin Jacob, and Uncle Ross in town to help move Papa's stuff out of his house into his new apartment. Hayden took advantage of the rummage sale day to run her own business venture. She made over $20!
After the rummage, we did manage to spend just a little bit of her earnings at her favorite place - Dave & Busters and she walked away with a pretty serious haul!
This picture is just cute. Enough said.
Hayden, my Mom, and I went down to the kite festival at the lakefront last weekend. We flew our kite, walked around, and just enjoyed the beautiful day.
Hayden climbed in this thing (a truck that is like a cave inside??) and loved it.
We wrapped up Memorial Day weekend with a family dinner with Papa and the rest of the Rech clan. Couldn't resist this cute shot of Cousin Jacob and Hayden. The two of them are like peas and carrots and it makes me so happy! We're lucky to have Jake so close to Milwaukee and often talk about how we'd love to see our cousins Noah and Olivia again SOON!
And...hellllllo summer!
