Crash!

On Saturday, Steve, Hayden and I ran some errands out in Brookfield. On the way home, we were rear-ended on the freeway. Nobody was inured - the traffic was moving slowly because of construction. However, the woman who hit us had no driver's license, no insurance, and was driving someone else's unregistered vehicle. If you were her, wouldn't you be driving more carefully?

Anyway, after some negotiation with the other driver (she didn't want us to call the police and was trying to convince us to let her friend fix the damage on our car), we called the police and they wrote up a crash report. We'll have to pay the insurance deductible to get the car fixed. That's $500 we'll probably never see again.

There isn't much that really makes me angry, but this lack of personal responsibility on behalf of the other driver is the sort of thing that really gets to me. There are a lot of other things we could have done with that $500 including adding to Hayden's college savings fund. Grrrr! Here are a few pics of the damaged vehicles.
