We had a babysitter come by at 6 pm and Steve and I snuck out for a very delicious cocktail at a new place called The Hamilton in Milwaukee. Steve read about this new place in a write up in last Friday's Journal Sentinel about the new trend of hanging out in hotel bars. The Hamilton was featured in that article even though it's not technically in a hotel - it just sort of has that same vibe. Anyway, it's a really cool place featuring craft cocktails - fresh squeezed juices, small batch specialty bitters and liquors, creative recipes, and a lot work goes into each drink. We'll definitely be back.
After our drink, we met up with my friend Mark and his girlfriend Stephanie for dinner at Cafe Metro in the Hotel Metro downtown. Our dinner was followed by a cappuccino (champagne for Steve) in the lobby of the Pfister. We had a fantastic time - filled with passionate political talk and some much needed laughs.
We returned home to a detailed record of Hayden's evening with the babysitter and some very organized toys (Shocking, I know, but Steve didn't do this - the babysitter did!)
