Misc.

There have been so many things we've done lately that I just haven't had a chance to blog about. Hence this miscellaneous catch up post.

We generally enjoyed August - we hit the zoo a few times, had a few really nice (and really needed) date nights, spent a good amount of time with my Mom and Steve's Dad, and had some really great times just spending family time together.

Hayden is walking like crazy - it's amazing how far she's come in just the two weeks since she started. They call her 'Perpetual Motion' at daycare (which, I think, is a step up from the previous label 'She's a Pooper!'). She can go from sitting down to standing up without any help. She can bend over and pick something up without falling down. She can climb up stairs (gates are our friends) and she is starting to run (oh boy). With all of this walking, we decided to buy her some good shoes from Stride Rite. It's not cheap in there, that's for sure, but hopefully these shoes will be good for her developing feet.

Steve and I are really starting to panic about winter coming on. We spend many nights going for long walks as a family that usually wind up at any number of neighborhood parks. We've gotten into the habit of walking to and from the grocery store every week. And when we do have to stay in, the place just seems so darn small now that there are three of us (and countless toys). We plan to get swimming lessons started so that should help a bit - for one night a week. The rest of the nights should be interesting.

Hayden is also doing a lot of 'jargoning'. She goes on and on in her little made up language which just makes me smile from the core of me. She's also really getting good at saying some words and mimicking others. She clearly says "Dada", "Daddy", "Thank You", and "Uh Oh".

Tomorrow is her one year check up. (Oh no - shots!!)
