We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Hayden was full of excitement leading up to the 'big day'.
On Christmas morning, she really surprised us with two things:
1. She knew Santa came but still insisted on laying in our bed for awhile before going downstairs. I enjoyed the slow pace, knowing it will only be a year or two before we are dragged out of bed at the crack of dawn in a mad rush to see what's under the tree.
2. Once downstairs, Hayden was more excited to give US the presents she made for us than she was to open her own gifts. She insisted we open the presents from her first. Mom shed a few tears over that surprise.
The day was wonderful - presents at home, playing with some new toys, Christmas breakfast of kielbasa and eggs like every year.
Then began the mad rush of Erin and Bryant's house followed by Mary's house. It was a whirlwind of fun!
We enjoyed the rest of Ross and Jassen's visit home with lots of time together and what is becoming an annual sledding outing. It was a beautiful night...we were alone on the hill, with a gorgeous sunset and the air filled with laughter and love. What great memories.
