Tasting

Steve and I were inspired by the sunny evening last night and bundled the family up for a walk. We ended up strolling down Oakland Avenue and marveling at the ongoing development of the northern end of Oakland - there are so many new buildings and businesses within walking distance, it's awesome!

My only complaint about the location of our house used to be that I wanted to be able to walk to bars and restaurants. Well, count this among the many other things that seem to be going my way because it's happening. There's a new running store, an Alterra (my absolute, hands-down favorite coffee shop), a wine bar, a delicious restaurant, a new art gallery, a new British pub, and yesterday we noticed the Big Bay Brewery tasting room had officially opened. We ducked in to check it out and ended up staying for a tasting. Mom and Dad tasted three yummy beers. Hayden tasted just about anything she could manage to put in her mouth.

What a fun, spontaneous Wednesday night!
