Outstanding in Austin

Mary and I had planned to attend a really unique dining event called Outstanding in the Field in Indiana in August. These dining events are all about bringing the 'field to table' movement to life. Big long tables are set up in the field of a farm and locally grown fruits and vegetables and locally raised meats are transformed into delicious fare by chefs from local restaurants.

But then, Steve's Mom was admitted to the hospital and we cancelled our Indiana trip. Luckily, the folks at Outstanding in the Field later let us reschedule for a different event (even though it was against their standard no cancellation policy). Mary and I boarded flight to Austin on Monday night and had a wonderful experience at an Outstanding in the Field event there.
